Quinns of Baltinglass has a coarse and pelleting mill supplying feed to its dairy, beef, calf, sheep, equine and pet customers. The mill, which produces feed rations primarily from Irish-grown cereals, aims to support both livestock and tillage farmers. On average, 40-60% of ingredients in their rations are locally sourced, utilizing Irish barley, oats, and beans. The mill allows Quinns to ensure quality and control over feed mixes, focusing on simplicity with seven to eight key ingredients, while high-energy ingredients like imported maize meet specific protein needs. The mill is accredited under the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) and all grain purchased is from Irish Grain Assurance Scheme (IGAS) approved growers.
